Why is my Item Template not Uploading?

Last updated:

There are a few reasons as to why the items template file may not upload.

First of all we recommend checking that you have filled in each field, take a look at our video below to double check you have done this correctly you will find the item template at 1:09, you can find and click this in the description of the video.

After you have checked you have filled in the fields correctly and you are still having trouble uploading, here are a few other reasons this could be happening.

Matching order number/item codes - If you already have items uploaded to your campaign and the items in your template have order numbers or item codes that match these items already on the platform this will also prevent the item template from being uploaded so you will need to have your first item on the template start from the last item on your campaign.

Finally another reason this can be happening is down to excess rows or columns on your spread sheet, these will need to be deleted before uploading, this can't be done in excel as it will continuously make rows and columns the more you highlight, so you will need to upload the file to 'Google sheets' or if you are on Mac this can be done on 'Numbers'

Here is a step by step guide for you.

First of all you will need to Upload your file to Google Sheets, click on the file icon as shown in the image below.

Now click to browse your files and open your item template.

It will then display the same as it did on excel, now scroll to the bottom of the page and you will reach row 1000.

Now Highlight row 1000 up to your last item on the template, a quick way to do this is click row 1000, scroll up to your last item and as you can see on the image below row 7 is the last excess row, hold the 'Shift' key on your keyboard and click the number, it will then automatically select all the rows.

Once highlighted, click 'Edit' > 'Delete' > 'Rows ** - 1000'

Now they are deleted your item template should look similar to this.

If you have any excess columns when you scroll to the right, the process is the same.

Now you can download the item template as an excel file and upload it to the GalaBid platform.
